Descartes XPS Ship is enhancing security measures to ensure your account remains protected and accessible. As part of these investments, we are transitioning all customers to 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) for logging into XPS Ship.
2FA adds an extra layer of protection by requiring two forms of identification during login. This feature significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access to your account. The following steps guide you through the setup of 2FA:
Navigate to the XPS Ship login page.
Enter your email and password.
Click the Login button.
A popup displays to let you know that a code was sent to your email address.Go to your inbox and copy the verification code.
Return to the XPS login page and paste the verification code in the Verification Code field.
If needed, click the Trust this device checkbox to skip the two-factor authentication process the next time you log in using the same device. You also have the option to add a device nickname such as “Workstation 1”, Warehouse PC” or whatever you would like.
Click Verify when you are ready to continue logging into your XPS Ship account.
Note: After logging into XPS Ship, you can add more verification methods.
Add a Phone Number for Texting Your Two-Factor Authentication Validation Code
If you wish for your two-factor authentication validation code to be sent via text, you first have to authorize XPS Ship to send SMS messages. Follow these steps to authorize the text option:
Log into Descartes XPS Ship.
Click the Settings tab.
Under User Settings select Security.
Click the Add Two Factor Authentication Method button to display a popup.
Select Phone from the dropdown.
Next, enter your phone number in the Phone field and, if needed, add a nickname (such as “Main cell” or whatever you would like).
Click Save. A text with a verification code is sent to the phone number you have provided.
Enter the six-digit number in the Verification Code field and then click Verify.
Tip: If you did not receive the code, you can click Re-Send Code for a new code to be sent. The code should arrive within a minute of being sent. Once verified, the phone number you entered can be used for Two-Factor Authentication.
Removing a Previously Added Two-Factor Authentication Method and/or Trusted Device
If you would like to remove a previously added authentication method or device, you can do so in the security settings:
Click the garbage can icon to the right of the phone or email you would like to remove.
After removing a two-factor authentication method, you can no longer complete the two-factor authentication using that phone number or secondary email. To delete a previously trusted device, select the garbage can icon to the right of the device you would like to remove.
After removing a trusted device, you are asked to complete the two-factor authentication the next time you try to log into XPS Ship using that device.
