Depending on the service you select and the carrier you use, the maximum size and weight for shipments can vary. The information provided below explains how to calculate a package's total length and girth, along with the size and weight limitations for the most commonly used shipping services.
How to Calculate Combined Length and Girth
-
Measure the three parcel dimensions in inches. The length is the longest dimension.
Example: 30” (Length) x 10” (Width) x 15” (Height)
-
Add the measurements of the Width and Height together and multiply by two. This is the girth of your package.
Example: 10” (Width) + 15” (Height) =25" x 2 = 50” (Girth)
-
Take the Length and add this to the package girth. The result is the combined length and girth of your package.
Example: 30" (Length) + 50" (Girth) = 80" (Combined Length and Girth)
