Sometimes, you may need to buy extra insurance when booking your shipment. While shipping insurance is not a requirement, having such insurance is wise for valuable items that exceed the limited liability provided by the carrier for lost or damaged shipments. Follow the steps below to learn how to purchase additional insurance when booking your shipment.
The XCover Shipping Insurance Terms and Conditions can be viewed by visiting: XCover by Cover Genius Terms. If you have purchased additional insurance (through XCover by Cover Genius), you have 24 hours to void the shipment as long as the parcel has not left the originating address.

Important Information Regarding Additional Insurance
Keep in mind that raising the insured amount does not eliminate the insurance coverage that the carrier may provide. For instance, FedEx and UPS have restrictions on their liability for lost or damaged items. Consult the carrier's terms and conditions for specifics regarding their limited liability.
