Create a Rule Based Off of a Shipment

Rules are a way to have services, options, and package types automatically selected on orders when using an eCommerce Integration. When you set up a filter in a rule, you are telling the platform which orders you want it to modify. When you set up actions, you are indicating the way that you want to modify those orders. You can also create a new rule based on the conditions and actions you selected when creating a shipment after it has been booked.

For an overview visit the Help Center Article: eCommerce Integration Rules

Creating a Rule from a Shipment

You can create a rule that will match the shipment parameters you have set so that it will apply the same actions to future shipments meeting the same conditions.

The Actions it will match at this time are:

  • Service Type

  • Package Type

  • Signature Option

  • Contains live bees

  • Terms of Trade

  • Include Pay-On-Return Label

  • Is Pay-On-Return Label

  • Split into Multipiece Shipment

The Basic conditions in the filter it will match at this time are:

  • Destination/Country/State

  • Integration

  • Shipping Service Selected

  • Order Group (if applicable)

  • SKU(s)

  • USPS Zone (If Domestic)

  • Weight Range

  • Item Count Range (minimum)

  • Total Order Price Range

  • Inventory Location (Magento & Shopify)

On the Ship Tab

After booking a shipment, select the option on the right to “Create Rule From Shipment”.

A box will pop up prompting you to select which Filters and Actions from that shipment you would like to use to create the rule. You can “Select All”, or to create a rule that would apply to a broader range of orders, select some of the options. For example, you may want the rule to apply to orders meeting the exact same filters with the exception that it would apply to anywhere in the U.S. In that case, you would leave the Destination State, and Zone boxes unchecked. After making your selections, click “Confirm”.

This will bring you to the Rules settings page. Here you can review, edit and rename the rule. The created rule is automatically saved, however, if you edit any part of the rule you will need to click save to save your changes.

Please note, if you want a more general rule based on the shipment, you may want to edit the fields to include a broader range of orders you want the rule to apply to such as:

  • Destination State: Change to “Any” to include all domestic U.S. States.

  • USPS Zone: Change to “All” to include all domestic USPS Zones.

  • Skus: Uncheck selected Skus to include any items.

  • Order Group: Change to “All” to include orders from different order groups including orders without an order group.

  • Weight Range

  • Total Order Price Range

  • Item Count Range
