XPS WebShip

Shopify Integrated Quoting (Optional)

In order to enable shipping rate estimates during your Shopify checkout process through XPS Ship, you will first need to be on the Advanced Shopify plan (but unless you need the Advanced plan for its benefits and features, you do NOT need it for integrated quoting see more info below). If you connected to Shopify from XPS Ship before you upgraded, you’ll need to re-connect.

Note: You must have your Shopify integration connected before proceeding to the following steps.

Shopify requires that you have the carrier-calculated shipping feature on your store's subscription plan in order to have integrated quoting. This feature is included in the Advanced Shopify and Shopify Plus plans, or it can be added to the Shopify plan for a monthly fee. Simply send an email to Shopify and tell them you are interested in enabling the CCS-carrier-calculated shipping feature for an additional $20/month. As of January 1, 2023, the option to add Third Party Calculated shipping rates will not be available for the Basic and Starter Shopify plans. If you added the CCS feature to a Basic or Starter Shopify plan prior to January 1, 2023, there will not be any change.

Click the Settings tab.

Under “eCommerce” select “Integrated Quoting”.

Click “Add Integrated Quoting Option”.

Add the Name of your Shipping Service. For example, upon checkout, your customers may have options such as “Standard Shipping”, or “Expedited Shipping” this would be the name you enter here.

Select the Service Type that you would select upon booking the shipment. For example, if a customer selects “Standard Shipping” at checkout and you process all Standard Shipping orders as FedEx Home Delivery, you would select that service type here.

Click "Save Changes" when the Service Name and Type have been entered.

You can continue to add additional services as necessary by clicking “Add Integrated Quoting Option” again until all services have been added accordingly.

Markup Option

The second piece of the integrated quoting is the markup option. If you choose to pass through your rates with no markup, or maximum quote amount, you do not need to enter anything for these fields. However, if you choose to add a flat rate, percentage markup, a negative flat rate, or percentage markup, or maximum quote amount to your cost, continue with the instructions below.

Quote Charge Markup

Choose whether you would like your rate to be a Flat Rate Markup or a Percentage Markup.

Enter the markup amount with no dollar or percent symbols. For example, if you wanted to markup your rate by 5% on top of your cost, you would choose “Percent Markup” from the drop-down menu and enter “5” in the box to the right and click "Save" when finished. When entering less than a whole dollar amount you will need to use a leading 0, i.e 0.75.

Negative Quote Charge Markup

If you wanted to do a negative quote charge markup so that the shipping cost is less than your cost you can do so. For example, if you wanted to reduce the rate at checkout by $5.00 less than your cost, you would choose “Flat Rate Markup” from the drop-down menu and enter “-5” in the box to the right, and click "Save" when finished. The negative amount only applies to what your customer pays at checkout, it does not limit how much you would pay for the shipment.

Package Weight Markup

Choose if you want to include a Package Weight Markup, this would add the package weight plus the item weight to equal the total weight for the package being quoted. You could use this if you wanted to markup weight to account for the box and filler material on top of your item weight listed. For example, if you wanted to markup your weight by 1 pound in addition to the total weight of the products in the order, enter “1” in the box to the right, choose “lb” from the drop-down menu and click "Save" when finished. When entering less than a pound you will need to use a leading 0, i.e 0.25

Maximum Quote Amount (Domestic Only)

Choose if you want to include a Maximum Quote Amount, this would limit your customers paying over the amount you set for shipping. The limit only applies to what your customer pays at checkout, it does not limit how much you would pay for the shipment. Enter the amount with no dollar or percent symbols and click "Save" when finished.

You will then want to reconnect the integration.

Click the Settings tab.

Under “eCommerce” select “eCommerce Integrations”.

A list of your current integrations will appear, select your Shopify integration.

At the bottom select “Reconnect Integration”.

Next, log into your Shopify account and select "Settings" in the bottom left indicated by a gear.

Select the "Shipping" option.

Select the option for “Manage Rates”.

For XPS Ship, select the 3 dots on the right-hand side and select “Edit Rates”.

Here you can edit your shipping rates. You may also markup prices through a percentage or by a flat fee. Select "Done" at the bottom to save. *If you choose to set the markup through Shopify, you should not set a second markup in the XPS Ship integrated quoting options.

Now when customers check out, they will see the options you’ve created.
